PT29: Himalayan Safari (Manali to Leh)

DAY 1: DELHI

Arrive in Delhi. Check-in at hotel. Afternoon proceed for city tour of Old & New Delhi. Overnight in Delhi.

DAY 2: DELHI / CHANDIGARH / MANALI

Morning transfer to airport to board flight for Chandigarh. Further drive from Chandigarh to manali, with lunch en-route. Check-in at hotel. Overnight in Manali.

DAY 3: MANALI

This day is free at leisure for own activities, shopping or choosing an array of tour options available. Overnight in Manali.

Destination Covered: Delhi, Chandigarh, Manali, Jispa, Sarchu, Pang, Leh, Delhi

DAY 4: MANALI / JISPA

Morning, start Jeep Safari to Jispa en-route halting at Rohtang Pass - a scenic location on the Himalayan ranges, with Dashohar Lake and Beas Kund to visit. Lunch at Khoskar - a bleak and windswept place. While driving past Keylong, reach Jispa. Camp at Jispa for overnight.

DAY 5: JISPA / SARCHU

Morning drive from Jispa to Sarchu - a location inhabitated by Himalayan clan, 'Gaddi', and a few lonely Indian Army soldiers at the army outpost. En-route stop for a while at Baralacha Pass (Baralacha meaning 'Pass with Crossroads'). This is a strategic criss-cross point where the roads from Zanskar, Ladakh, Spiti and Kahaul meet. Camp at Sarchu for overnight.

DAY 6: SARCHU / PANG

Morning drive from sarchu to Pang. En-route stop at Lachkuang La for lunch. Later in the evening arrive at Pang. Overnight in Camps at Pang.

DAY 7: PANG / LEH

Morning drive from Pang to Leh through expansive Kyungshu Plains, a 45 Km. stretch. 'Kyung' which is a sheep like animal, can be seen over here. En-route sop at Tangnangla Pass, the highest pass with metalled road. Check-in at hotel. Overnight in Leh.

DAY 8: LEH

Morning proceed for full day sightseeing in and around Leh, visiting Shankar Gompa, Shanti Stupa, Spituk and Stokh Palace. Evening return to hotel. Overnight in Leh.

DAY 9: LEH

Morning proceed for full day sightseeing in and around Leh, visiting Shey - an old summer palace with 12 ft. statue of Buddha; Thiksey - the superbly located monastery on a hilltop overlooking village and Indus river; and Hemis Monastery - the richest and the largest monastery of the area. Evening return to hotel. Overnight in Leh.

DAY 10: LEH MORNING VISIT THE PHYANG MONASTERY. REST DAY FREE AT LEISURE FOR STROLL IN THE LOCAL MARKET. OVERNIGHT IN LEH.
DAY 11: LEH / DELHI

Time free till transfer to airport to board flight for Delhi.

DAY 12: LEH / DELHI

Time free till transfer to airport to board flight for Delhi.
